Subject: Re: Thickness of sub box material
Whenever building a sub enclosure, you should always, in my opinion, use at least 3/4" MDF with braces on all panels with any dimension of over 18". This will help to avoid any panel resonance from "cluttering up" the sound. Whenever the sub hits, the air inside the box rarifies, meaning that it will try to suck the walls in. If they aren't stiff enough this will cause the walls to flex and resonate. Just be sure if you use braces to take that into account when you figure up the interior volume.
