Ice Chest Boom Box |

I am building an ice chest boom box for toobing using Sony Marine components, the stereo on top, two 6.5 inch dual cone speakers and one 12 inch sub woofer in front and two more 6.5 woofer/tweeter speakers on each side with a 600W amp. Should I leave it sealed (the lid closed like most I've seen) or would porting improve the sound? If so how should it be ported, just holes in the back or use a length of pvc pipe?
