So I have this cool music thing, a portable synth called a Kaosillator, just so very much fun. (See Link)
Needing to immediately make it loud, portable and wearable I quickly added input jacks to my megaphone to great result, lots of volume, yet sadly no bass.
Well, I need the bass. I now want to make version two (having burned out version one at last years burning man.) While having decent DIY skills, I am clueless as to how to make the biggest bang for the least weight and dollars. I know I do better than a megaphone horn, but how?
The final thing needs to be as self contained as possible. Light, wearable, battery powered, with critical components sealed to dust. If it has a lot of hollow space, it needs to open and be usable as luggage. I can work up detailed design, I just need guidance to best solution, having no real grip on the acoustic physics or the best electronics solution.
The megaphone ran GREAT for days on just a 6 C cells. I am hoping I can make something that eats about as much juice, and delivers as much volume, I want to use rechargeable AA cells this time. I would like stereo on the high end. IMPORTANT: To make the high volume tolerable, I kept the megaphone at hip level, and aimed down, to bounce and disperse the sound a bit. I.E. speakers can't be too close to my ears.
I appreciate ANY suggestions. Thanks for your help. Moderated By: brian@diysubwoofers.org
