2 sealed in .25ft3 is qtc .707 giving f3 of 83hz (yuck).

Now 2 in a .42ft3 ported to 40hz would require a too small port 2" near 11-12" long. The port is too small and tuned to 40hz at cranking volume, music under 40hz will bottom them out fast. A larger port requires a longer port, so that is out of the question. That is why djk recommends a passive radiator. Even a 40hz tapped horn will run out of excursion below 30hz quickly........

You are in a mini van ?

Jez, if you want bass, free up some space for a pair of 12"s, 1.5ft3 sealed each should get you some bass. A dual 12" with 1.2ft3 each box is availiable from partsexpress usually less than $40.

A low qts driver can work well with a PR tuned below optimum with massive eq to get flat response, then with subsonic filtering.

I'd aim for a sealed qtc .707 with an f3 near 45hz, that works well in any vehicle.................... I like 12's for a vehicle (manageable size) but hard to find a 12 that meets those (f3=45hz in qtc.707 that is <1.5ft3) requirements.

Even tuned to 30hz at home, I can easily skip past 8mm xmax (dual 15's) due to low freq garbage in recordings, a subsonic filter would increase the volume I make immencely without the woofers bouncing out of control.
