Hmm... I would try 4th order BP, tuned with a PR instead of a port. And treat the PR for marine use.

Advantages:

1. Driver's mounted inside the box, safely away from any water or salt damage.

2. You'll get the extension of a vented alignment, without having to provide a port (for water to get in), or exposing the expensive driver to the elements.

3. PRs are cheaper than active drivers to replace, if damage due to environmental reasons (water, salt, some idiot sends a ski through it) occurs.

You'll also need to pay good attention to *where* you mount this sub in the boat.
