Subject: MB Quart RWC304 Bandpass Help

Old amateur looking for assistance…

17 years ago I built a fourth order bandpass enclosure for my Kicker 12” subs. The sealed chamber is 1.25 cubic feet and the vented is 1.75 cubic feet. The port is 6 inches in diameter and 6 inches long. I actually have 2 of these in separate enclosures that I use for my home theater. They really can rumble the room. My issue is they are over 17 years old and it sounds like one of them is beginning to fail.

I purchased 4 MB Quart subs in 2002 in anticipation of the Kicker subs failing. I can’t believe it took this long. I tried the 4 MB Quarts in a sealed enclosure and they just didn’t fill the room like the 2 Kickers do. I’ve been looking for the specs to build a bandpass enclosure and haven’t had any luck. I tried using “ajdesigner.com” to come up with a design and used a 2” x 3.22” port. The wider diameter port called for a longer one and the box is much smaller than the Kicker (.97 cu. ft. sealed/.69 cu. ft. vented).

Below are the specs for both speakers. Can someone please help me with a design for the new MB Quarts that will pound like the Kickers? Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!!

Kicker C-12 8 ohm (12”)
Fs – 17
Qts - .392
Vas – 486 ltrs.
Xmax – 7.32 mm
Qes - .420
Qms – 5.95

MB Quart RWC304 (12”)
Fs – 27
Qts - .38
Vas – 70 ltrs.
Xmax – 9 mm
Qes - .41
Qms – 5.4
