Subject: Looking to trade or sell my diy subwoofer (150W, 12"MKII Shiva)-NYC

Hello all,

First an apology if this is considered against the rules (the FAQ link is broken), but I recently moved in w/ my girlfriend, and my large diy subwoofer does not pass the GAT (girlfriend acceptance test), so I am looking to either sell or trade it, with my primary motivation in selling is to cover or at least subsidize the cost of a smaller, prettier sub (I also don't listen to too much music or use my home theater much anymore, so it would be better off in someone else's house). I built this in 2004.

Ok, so anyway here are the specs:
18x18x24 box, 3/4" mdf, sealed system with stuffing inside.
12" MKII shiva driver from Adire Audio
150 Watt amp, don't remember the make, ordered it out of Parts Express.

It is unfinished, so bare MDF (hence GAT failure). You can paint it or veneer it however you wish, if you wish. Its flat to 17hz or so, and I am assuming you guys are familiar with the loudness, and sound quality that these boxes can produce.

I don't have any particular price in mind, so I guess make me an offer if you are interested. The parts themselves cost about $300 when I built it, though I am not looking to recover that, maybe you will want it just for the parts. Adire Audio is now out of business it seems, so maybe the shiva driver is of value. I also mentioned I am interested in trading, and this is true- if you have a smaller, non-ugly sub, I would love to trade- in fact it would be preferred, as any proceeds from this sale will just be reinvested in some sort of mass produced sub.

Maybe you want to build your own box, but want my parts? We can work out a deal there too. Let me know if you are interested. Email me or call me at six three one 241-1793. I am in the NYC area, on the Jersey City Waterfront, and would prefer to deal local.

Let me know if you have any questions,
-Kevin
