I just finished repairing one. A power supply filter capacitor failed. I see this problem in >50% of so-called "bad" subwoofers and it takes only a few minutes to replace them. Buy a bunch of electrolytic caps at least 6800 uFd/63 volts and you will have what it takes to fix this puppy and most others like it (Polk, H-K, etc). So far the only one that foiled me was an Infinity BU-2 and the amp on this was so cheap I decided it was not worth saving - a new plate from Parts Express for $55 made this a decent small room sub.
