WinISD should be able to confirm the port calcs for you. As for port placement, it can be placed anywhere where the entrance or exit aren't blocked. You may want to consider a shelf port design though, as a 3" diameter vent might be a bit small for that driver, particularly if you're planning to play it at high volumes.
