Subject: Peerless 12 XLS rebuild

My previous attempt to build a decent enclosure for a Peerless 12 inch XLS subwoofer failed when in action at a party that almost blew the top off the sub...literally.

I've decided to improve bracing/sealing and port the enclosure. The enclosure currently measures (with the bracing I'm adding) 57.33L. At a calculated optimal frequency of 23.5 Hz a 3 inch (7.6cm) diameter port needs to be around 14.5 inchs (37cm) long to tune correctly.

Is anyone able to confirm my calculations before I cut holes in my sub box? Also, where do I put the port? Can I put it on the side of the enclosure?

Any help is appreciated
