if you design a sound system around sine waves and constant tones, then the multi-chamber system has few problems. Movie sub tracks are normally just an envelope generator set to ~30hz, transients hardly matter because all you hear is 'boom.' It's only when you realize that music is dynamic, and that transients have nearly infinite frequency response that you run into trouble. with 3 or more chambers 'rippling' and ringing with every transient, your music starts to sound like poo real fast.
