Making a box for a 12 |

My friend and I just currently bought to 12 kicker subs.(we're each using one per car) We wanna build the boxes for them by ourselves to save money. What would be the best box for this? I thought a ported box would be the best idea, but we are open to any suggestions or advice on this. Thank you.
