This is where the debugging gets hard, and the frustration level is upped.

You have to find the cause of the overheating, and fix it. This could be something simple and easy, but finding it may not be.

Follow the other replies and check those first, as there is good advice there.

Is the heat sink loose?
Overdriving the amplifier?
