Brian,

You were kind to say "slightly different". It's a very different alignment.
Somehow, I missed the allusion to a plate amp and MK drivers, which
would of course, point to a home audio application.

I've seen the push/pull alignment used extensively in pro audio
subwoofers. It is my understanding that slight disparities in driver
behavior can be cancelled out, reducing certain types of distortion. I
will defer to you (Brian), concerning any other possible benefit. Unless
you want one of the speakers to be outside the box, you will have to
sufficiently recess the baffle back into the cabinet. Calculating the
dispalcement of this compartment will need to be considered for a
tuned ported box. Here's an application of this
