The entire bottom of this sub will come off. It has screws around the entire outside edge, so I am assuming that I can access it by taking the bottom out of it. I guess that is how the technicians got into it for repairs. There is no speaker post plate, just small plastic inserts. I am guessing that there must be something like foam 2 sided tape to seal the unit. I will replace that. If not, I will seal it some other way.

I got the speaker for $50.00 and the amp (shipped to my door) for $160.00, so it should be an economical project at least!

Thanks for the help. I can't wait to get into it. If it works well, I may get another and use a splitter on my subwoofer RCA out cable.

later,
ken
