I would go active, using plate amps with built in x/overs instead of the
passive design, and fixed x/overs that he used. Active speakers are
more flexible and don't require monster cables to get the power from
the amp to the cabinet. The amps for each driver are built into the
cabinet! Understand. You still need (coaxial) signal cables, and a place
to plug in each cabinet, but that's usually no sweat.
