Car subs are usually much 'stiffer' in suspension (Qms and Qes), they are tuned higher to produce more mid-bass BECAUSE: the car's cabin acts as a pressure vessel, actually giving 'cabin gain' to enhance the low frequencies. You can have any two of three things: extreme lows, extreme efficiency (low power input required to produce high spl's), or extremely small. To get small and loud, they sacrifice the low end extension of the drivers.
A home audio driver will normally be tuned lower, because that 'cabin gain' effect doesn't start until much lower frequencies in larger spaces.
