The black and red cables are probably for some sort of internal lighting in the enclosure - does it feature neon tubes or anything of the sort?

The wires covered with clear coating should be connected to the speaker. Usually the copperlike one to the +ve terminal and the other to the -ver terminal. If it's a DVC sub, connect both +ve terminals together and connect both -ver terminals together as well.

Your sub is rated at 250W RMS, but 750W peak. I wouldn't worry too much about attaching a 300W amp to it, unless you plan to play it a maximum (distorted) volume for long periods.

For sound quality, just go with the manufacturer's recommendation for a sealed design. Not much choice though, as you already have an enclosure.
