Subject: Question on wiring

Hey this is the first time i've ever wired a subwoofer and I just have a few questions before I screw anything up . Heres the Gear I have first
300 w pioneer amp running a 250w efx hd sub
First question is about wiring the enclosure to the speaker.

Inside the enlosure there are basically 4 wires. One is a small black wire with a red sleeve over it the other wire comming from the same area inside the enlosure is a small red with a red sleeve over the end of the wire.
The two other wires are covered in a see through coating one is copperlike and one is silver coloured these wires look like average speaker cable and the other wires look like for a power maybe. The "speaker" cable has little clamp like things on the end which seem would hook onto the speaker or subwoofer.

Im just wondering where I hook all of these wires to the speaker.

Question #2 is.Im running a 300w amp into a 10" 250w sub. Will this cause any complications where the amp is bigger than the sub or does it only matter if the sub is much bigger than the amp powering it.

Question #3 I listen to music that is more so in the mid range such as rock ( mars volta, zeppelin) and I know that I don't want my subwoofer to be leading the sound I
just want it to compliment it. I've heard that there is a way to wire it to get the maximum volume and boost out of your sub but there is also a way to wire it so it's not as powerful but you get a better quality how can I do this. I hear it has something to do with bridgeing.

Thank you for your help guys.
