Hi, instead of a spectacle I have a full plate. Yes it is very stable. However, at 160 Hz the sides start to vibrate and I guess that there are small gaps that open and close, and that makes a rattling noise. In other words: I suspect that the bracing plate is not very tighly glued to the 4 walls, and there are no screws to enhance the construction there. It is just a 22 mm egde glued perpendicular to the plates.
It is definitely not the cone or magnet or basket.
Between braces (which make the nodes) each wall will form a hunch or be sucked in at some characteristic frequency, depending on specific mass and stiffness of the material. It can not be prevented.
