Subject: help needed, enclosure vibrations

Hello,
I have finished dual speaker
enclosures (sealed design),
22 mm MDF, about 50x50x50 cm^3.
Obviously 6 pieces of MDF
are glued together for this cube.
The 7th is in the middle, to
get 2 equal sealed spaces.

The enclosure is rock solid,
it can stand 200 kg of load
on top (me and friends).

Running sine waves at full power
shows (what is happening with
every enclosure): side walls resonate
at about 160 Hz. This is ok, one can
not prevent it. But it is not ok
to have rattlig noise at those resonance
spots.

Could it be that the MDF parts beat
against each other at the middle
joints? The vibration is strongest
in the middle, nodes are of course
at the end.

Will triangular rods glued allong all
critical joints help?

In the past I did not have the bracing
plate in the middle in smaller enclosures.
The vibration was there, but no rattling.

Any experiences?

m.c.
