Subject: Re: Sourcing a power amp for powered sub

Hi,
live band music reproduction generally does not need a sub.
A speaker that gives maximum output down to about 35Hz to 40Hz is usually efficient enough to give the SPLs required to play to your audience.
PA is usually designed for efficiency to get most volume (SPL) for the package size (portability). This goes against extreme low frequency reproduction. Make a choice.

A hint given by Cliff Richard in an interview from the 60s. Spend money on ensuring the lead vocalist has their own poweramp and speaker channel!!!!!
