The shape of the enclosure has zero effect on the sound it makes unless the entire thing is made out of a material that resonates with the sound. Its the reason a subwoofer enclosure can be made to any shape so long as it is the correct volume for the particular driver. Air doesn't care what shape it is in, only how much of it there is.
