BL=strength of flux in the magnetic gap times the length of voice coil in the magnetic gap (approximately). Since we all want good quality sound output we never drive our voice coils out of the gap, so Xmax becomes our sensible limit. By definition, BL should be almost constant when excursion is still within the limits of Xmax.
