Re: measuring trouble |

I did notice some variations in measuring too, but with the better metering devices I borrowed from work I got better results. They also made me uncover the problem that my amp dropped voltage as it descended in the frequency range. According to the scope meter (Fluke 199) The NCH tone generator was spot on. The multimeter I used was a fluke 187, it one of Fluke's most precise devices. I did see some variations of speaker positioning, but i went for the one where I measured the smallest voltage over the resistor (with magnet on the ground in a big room) Anyway, I ordered a velleman K4010 amp to go with the woofer and plan to redo the test when I assembled it. Specs seem nice and the frequency range seems low enough to go with my woofer. (i'm no expert so, does anyone have anything good or bad to say about this amp ?) I hope to get better measuring results with this amp and redo the test so I can design a case. After that i need to build/buy me a 80 or 100Hz filter. So i guess i'm still busy for a bit :)
