Big difference between a subwoofer and a woofer.

Every automotive setup I've seen with a 15" sub was crossed over at 50 or 60Hz, and the 12" maybe as high as 100Hz. I would imagine even a 12" sub crossed over at 400Hz would sound like crap.

Just my experience and what I've seen done. Most sound quality (as opposed to SPL setups) use a midbass setup if they are running large subwoofers.

If he just wants to go boom, then it doesn't matter.
