Most fuses only blow when they have 40% more load passing through them. Even at that load it takes minutes for them to melt. So a 30A fuse can take 42Amps and probably short peaks of up to 50-60 amps. They only melt quick at short circuits. Just check fuse specs and you'll see.

Maybe this is also part of the reason why they didn't blow
