Subject: Re: Exponential Ports

How do I model a 4th order BP with an exponential port?
It depends on how exponential the port is.

This unit seems to be a horn - but the horn is so tiny ,it only raises efficiency by 3-6dB.

What size port should I put in the sealed chamber so that the front and rear waves sum together completely?
Winisd will calculate the port from t/s information. T/s specs change slightly when on the horn though.

People used to port W bins,Ive seen a graph from OLSONs acoustics book that showed a lower cutoff due to the port. The port only operates over a narrow range so dont worry about summations. If the port does work I wouldnt expect more than a 3dB increase in SPL at tuning frequency.

What programs can I model this type of enclosure in?
If you take it to be a horn, then HORNRESP.
