I dont think DIY is better all around

it is certainly a more viable alternative to having your own built.

IMHO the primary benefit of DIY is exclusivity, i build a straight up 10" ported box with an attached 240W amp and im not much different then any of the store brands out there, except that i have a box properly sized for the driver i put in it. On the other hand if i build a Wicked One (modded w-bin) myself, i have something that not many consumers have, that cost me a lot less then what the pros who would use it could pay for someone else to build it. At the far end of the spectrum i know of no one who produces a vertical 20hz horn driven by 2x18" adire drivers, and only one person who actually has one (not me, unfortunately)

DIY is a way to get the big impressive system, without the big depressive price, screw FUN and LEARN, Ill take MONEY in my POCKET any day.
