MTX.com has some very good tutorials on types of boxes and build/bracing techniques.

I would rate bracing more important than damping, as bracing actually removes the likelihood of box vibration rather than trying to remedy it by damping. Any vibration of the box is lost power that is creating vibration rather than sound.

The purpose of stuffing is to increase the apparent box volume not to damp vibration as mentioned on diysubwoofers.com in the sealed box information.
