Generally the bass is a bit better when the drivers are mounted facing the rear, but youll have to try a few ways for your specific application.

As far as mounting the box goes, you can bolt it in the same way you would anything else, check you wont hit anything important, then drill and tap some holes, then bolt the box down with chains or something on the outside. If you want something cleaner, do the above, but take the driver out of the box and bolt it down from the inside, then reinstall the driver once the box is in.
