Dr. Heil's design is a Mid-Tweet folded ribbon, not a woofer. These Tymphany devices are completely different in that they are NOT transformers whereas the Hiel devices are. From what I see of the two devices, the only similarity is perhaps the shape with the Tymphany devices being MUCH larger.

The Tymphany devices use conventional technology in that there is a pair of opposing voice coils that are connected to multiple diaphragms, much like two woofer cones pointed at each other, only repeated many times. No ribbons involved, no Impedance transformation as in the Heil.
