The right driver in an infinite baffle will match the room-gain function allowing flat response to 10Hz and below without the need for equalization. Many drivers working together will keep distortions quite low giving near-perfect linearity and a total lack of compression at high power levels.
Transmission lines, while they can be used as SUB enclosures are more applicable to bass units that will also be required to go into the midrange region. Otherwise, TL's and Vented systems are quite similar. They will allow you to get the most from a single driver pressurizing a large room where you need to augment the response an extra octave.
Without knowing what your computer speaker are, there's no telling what you can do with them. It's likely they are heavily equalized to give you that bass you're describing.
