Subject: how did bose do that?

i dont feel like buying a new reciever with a dedicated sub out, because i have no need for all the extra channels(stereo is just fine). i recently saw a bose aw3 system and noticed that the subwoofer had the input and output jacks for the little sats underneath. i was wondering how the sub would get power, since there was no input for that. im guessing theres some kind of internal crossover, but i thought it would be better to ask someone rather than tear open a very pricey piece of equipment. besides, id rather build something of my own and feel a sense of accomplishment rather than pay a fortune and feel poor:(
