Hooking subs in parallel: from your amplifier you have your negative, and your positive.(which can be bridged) attach the negative and positive to speaker 1 (like normal), then with another peice of speaker wire connect the positive terminal of speaker one, to the positive terminal of speaker two, and the same for the negative wire. This shold decrease the number of ohms by half, allowing for more wattage to power the subs (but this should only be done to the specifications of your amplifier. If you have two 4 ohm speakers and in parallel that creates 2 ohms of resistance, some amplifiers depending on which one you have, arnt able to handle that, but those are usually cheaper amps)
grounding subwoofer: incase of an overload or somthing? (which I should have done before I blew my last amplifier) to ground your sub, how its designed is in the shape of a metal basket right? when the sub is bolted in the box, there should still be a bit of metal around the outer rim showing. although it might take away form the appearance of the sub, sand a bit of this down, taking off the paint, and attach a grounding wire with sauder or somthing. and then ground the other end of the wire to your vechile. if too much power is sent to the amplifier for any reason, and then travels to the subs, this ground wire gives it a place to escape. Makes sence, Ive never seen anyone do this, but I had my system looked at when i blew my amp, and thats what i was told might be a good idea, if incase theres a next time.
hope i could be of some help
