how should i set up my amp with my subs to get maximum power?

Subject: how should i set up my amp with my subs to get maximum power?

I have a kenwood kac-929 1000 watt bridgeable amp, and 2 memphis 15-pr124d subwoofers with a combined rms of 400 watts. I was wondering how i should wire up my amp with my subs so i can get maximum power out of it. Also, what do i have to do to my amp to make sure i do not blow my subs since my subs have a combined watt peak of 800 and my amp peaks at 1000
