Not really, at least wrt high quality transducers. Xmax specs for drivers available from TC Sounds, Audiomobile, Aura and a few other manufacturers make 7.62mm sound like a midrange driver's Xmax :-)
if you want 16mm Xmax underhung distortion POS that is in turn less efficient and needs more power, you can get it.
you can usually buy two or more of the "basic" models, like the Audire Audio Tempest. Not only that, but if you buy only one, you'll have more money left over which can be used to purchase that bigger amplifier.
this assumes that amplifiers dont have shipping costs to new zealand
this assumes that you spent your money buying the JBL new not 2nd hand.
do 2 tempests = 175litres total?i dont think so.if they did, they would be comparable with your logic.I imagine the box would be larger,i will model it sometime.
Tempest $385.00 Plus GST +2 amps 2 tempests=770$ > Redgum Amp 2x RGSW-2 $465.00=930$ of amp
770+930=1700$ woah so cheep like u say. and ive spend 500$ au on a jbl,+ a small amp that im getting
i take your point, partialy.that it is better to just go home HIFI rather than PRO and pay lots, but it doesnt always quite work out like that.
as for me and my house we shall make a basshorn
