The problem is likely not the Shiva itself; its the amplifier. Stryke had a similar problem with their amps where the capacitors would end up melting on increased loads. They are now suppling larger caps for their amplifiers and it fixed the problem. I've heard problems with the more low-power Jaycar plate amps like this, but a lot of that was hearsay. In any case, replacing the caps could be the solution to your problem.

Bandpass is essentially no better than vented boxes in efficiency. If your after high efficiency, use horn loaded boxes or choose professional series parts which are very often high in efficiency.
