Hi Bryan!

The Kenwood HT amp you have probably has a filtered subwoofer out, so chances are you wont need an external crossover. If not, then you can still build a crossover or use a pre-made one. But you'll need a sub and a suitable amplifier still. Have you got any size restrictions on this project? Any budgets? What sort of output are you after? (or how "loud" you want it to go).

The subwoofer would be actively crossed and can be run straight to the output of the sub amplifier.
