Subject: Internal Bracing Questions |
Somewhere in the DIYSubwoofers.org page it says internal bracing should be asymmetric. Why is this? Wouldn't that be less geometrically strong than symmetrical braces? Should I make bracing as strong as possible? Or should I just put some minimal bracing where the brace (I’m using 1" square cuts of MDF) always contacts two walls of the box that have a joint. (EG: no opposite end panels have the same brace) What would be the advantages or disadvantages of different internal bracing methods?
If necessary, I’m building a 2.1 cu. foot sealed enclosure for a tumult driver for my car. (QTC around .68-.7, planning on stuffing it) http://www.adireaudio.com/diy_audio/drivers/adire/tumult.htm
