Crossovers can be a tricky thing. If you are looking at the premade Dayton Crossovers they will probably be enough for your ears, I am gessing. I am familiar with them and have seen em. They use a 12 db per octave 2nd order Likwitz-Riley Configuration just so you know. Just make sure that whatever one you get that it will integrate well with your drivers, and that your drivers are the right Ohms as well.
About the phase wiring. I have never actually taken apart one of the crossovers, even though the ones I bought I never ended up using. Though I would GUESS that If you buy the 2 way (woofer/tweeter) crossover that the tweeters' terminals are already wired up backwards to anticipate the change in phase that happens with all EVEN order crossovers like 2nd, 4th, etc. Every time you add a component to the driver you shift the phase approx 90 degrees so thats why a 2nd order crossover like the ones in the dayton crossovers would have the woofer and tweeter 180 degrees apart, which makes them quieter at the crossover because they cancel each other out with the sound waves.
