Subject: Transmission Line theories and dimensions, any help? |
I have been looking over this site and others about transmission line theories. I assumed that a transmisison line is just used to take the inside waves of the box and convert them to a wave that will help amplify the wave coming out of the front. Now I'm guessing it's not used like a port is on a box because all the ones I have seen are stuffed with polyfill or various things. What I am really looking for is some way to calculate how to make one for a cv Vega 12 sub. I was thinking of using it in a car as long as it is of reasonable size. I have seen some car application boxes that Rockford came out with. It really doesn't look like all the other TL I've seen. It looks more like a shelf vent but the vent is like 25" long with a 90 degree angle in it. If anyone has seen one they might be able to clarify what it is exactly. I would just buy one of those but I don't really want to pay 180 some odd dollars. Anyways, I would like to build one of those and if anyone has anyways of giving me some deminsions I would appreciate it. I guess I will post these too; Vega 12-4 Vega 12D-4 fs 23 21 qts 0.33 0.27 vas 2.85 4.87
Now the only differance between the two is that one is dvc, and if anyone wants to know I have no idea what I want to change my major to...
