Yes you can run hundreds of watts on 1 speaker. I swore I heard an improvement when I bridged my crown dc300a for 600 watts rms into a 8ohm w-bin.

Speakers heat up as you put power in. Qts increases, read up on power compression on the jbl website tech stuff.

200 watts is 3db more power than 100 watts. 3db is not twice as loud in the bass region. most speakers won'
