it's been a while since i've read anything regarding crossovers, but for the component speakers i use for dorm room mains (yes, i'm kinda cheap) the manual says something about reversing the polarity of the tweeter but i can't remember under what circumstances, and the crossovers are 12 db/octave high and low pass. currently, i just have the midrange and the tweeter wired up with + to + and - to - and it doesn't sound out of phase or anything. hopefully someone else with more experience will offer more insight as to how they should be wired.
