that strange connector you've never seen is the high level or
speaker level input. basically the amp originally came with a
plug that fit into that connector and you would splice into your
speaker wires and use that signal for the amp, hence the
name high level or speaker level inputs. those 4 screw down
terminals are where you connect the wires for the left and
right channel speakers. also, the terminal label "rem" is the
remote terminal for the amp. the amp turns on when the
remote terminal sees a +12V. normally, you would run a wire
from your head unit's power antenna or remote turn on wire
to the amp's remote turn terminal. that way, the amp turns on
only when your head unit is also turned on.
