Sure he used an SPL meter, it was just still pegged from the guy before him!!!!
C'mon man (bruce) I'm tired of reading hokey-doke stories about BS readings with crap equipment. I find it feasible that MAYBE the low 130's could be achieved with these subs, but nothing over that unless a large array were used. In which case you would fall in the Pro 13+ category at competitions and be absolutely demolished........ that's just the way the cookie crumbles for companies like Perform. Tek. and Pyramid/Legacy etc.
This equipment is for low budget where looks mean everything. Though they have semi-solid to solid performance between 45 and 80hz, anything below that range is basically lost due to distortion caused by thermal heating and lack of excursion. The subs are made to be dropped in a high Q sealed enclosure with the res. freq. being 55hz and above, and ported boxes (which to acquire extreme SPL w/ these subs you would have to use) will chew these subs up and spit them out.
Please be sensible here and don't argue a crap point. As assholes like me will just shoot you down and then you'll have to tell another tall-tale.
Have a great day. And don't worry about it, keep pimpin, no one will know the difference.
