Your car's computer may be sensing the voltage drop and sending a check engine light - (meaning check your charging system). Now did this ck eng light come on with high volume or just moderate volume? And like Brian said check your grounds to be solid to the vehicle. With all the additional computer controlled sensors and processors in today's vehicles the demand for power is greater than it used to be. Much of the newer computers in vehicles are voltage sensative, and could malfunction due to lack of voltage. What size is your + power wire to your amps? Also you can never go to big on the ground. As a side note for needless info, car manufacturers are expoloring the use of 30volt DC systems in future vehicles, and they may install a mix of 30 & 12 volt systems in a single vehicle. < Corey
