Get dual "beefy" golf cart batteries (6V each), wire then in series for +12V. Golf cart batteries are much better than marine batteries or car batteries.. They have to haul the lazy golfers around all day (/joke).
This should make you happy as it's a cheaper alternative than buying a power supply.
