Subject: What exactly are you paying for in a name-brand amp? |

I was just wondering why Amps like MTX and JBL and such are so much more expensive for less power than names like Pyramid. Are we paying $350+ for a 300w amp for the MTX name? Or what other major factors come into play besides watts? Isn't power just power? Just wondering because I recently upgraded to 2 12" Polk GNX subs in a bandpass box (which sound awesome by the way) but wanted a beefier amp than my 450w. Etronics.com has a 1200w Pyramid amp for $129.99 Now that sounds like a good deal to me. Please help me out here, cause' those Best Buy guy's are all "oh, yeah, you need the Rockford Fosgate 800w amp for $650"
