Subject: Replacing my 12" SVC for a DVC car sub, suggestions. |

I'm thinking of replacing my 8Ohm RAMSA Driver (400W RMS) which I had a lot of discusion with Brandon, Brian, and Adrian, many months ago when I was designing the enclosure for it and my golf.
I now have a real home for the RAMSA such that it can be used to it's full potential with it's partner as a PA sub (Anechoic 118dBSPL f3's 21-90Hz totally flat from 25 to 70 *Grinz*), and to get the most from my car amp, I could do with a DVC (2x4Ohm) driver.
Currently the balance requires about 3dB more on the sub than the mains, although in the new configuration I would be offering the sub 2x140W rather than the 1x100W currently, and mains are going from 35W to 50W. So I'm looking for about the same efficiency (RAMSA 88.1dB/1W/1m). The enclosure is 2.5^3ft currently tuned to ~25Hz with a single 3" port.
I'm looking for SQ so thermal compression and alike must be taken in to account. Also to complicate matters I'm in the UK so Ideally I would like it available over here.
So to round up, I'm looking for
12" DVC (2x4Ohm) ~88dB for being driven with up to 280Wrms, for use in a 2.5^3ft ported enclosure tuned to 25Hz or above. Currewnt Xover is 50Hz.
What can you come up with?
To give you all an idea I've been looking at the JL 12W3, but all other sugestions/comments are more than welcome
Best Regards, Jon.
